Welcome to photography@perranuthnoe

photography@perranuthnoe was established in 2009 following a Perranuthnoe village church room consultation day where a number of people suggested a group be formed for those interested in the upsurge we have had in digital photography.

The first meeting of this group took place on Monday 5 October 2009.

We are a group of like-minded people who meet to discuss anything relating to photography.

We meet every three weeks at 7pm on a Monday evening in Perranuthnoe church room.

During the meetings we discuss techniques and share knowledge and experience. We also set a theme at the end of every meeting so that members can practice their skills and bring their results along to the next meeting.

Please have a look at some of our images on this website and feel free to leave any comments.

We welcome new members. If you would like to find out more about our programme, meeting dates and what we are up to please contact Martin on 01736 710820 or email martin.seawards@btinternet.com

14 March 2011

This week, we welcomed another new member, Dave Painter, and he showed us some of his impressive photographs taken on a trip to New Zealand. We look forward to seeing more of his images. We have subsequently received an email from Dave giving thanks to the warm welcome he received.

We had the largest response to our set subject with 48 images being submitted which provided a lot of inspiration. Once again, James Williams gave us a good laugh with his self-portraits. All images have now been uploaded and can be viewed at http://photography-perranuthnoe.blogspot.com/

Our new subject is Work. An interesting subject for some of our members who may have forgotten what this involves! I’m looking forward to seeing a broad selection of Work. Please email up to two images to me by Sunday 3 April.

Our next regular meeting is on Monday 4 April at 7pm in the Church Room.

The Church Room has now been booked for our Summer exhibition preview on Friday 24 June. This is a great opportunity to show off our best work to the community. There is currently not as much hanging space this year, but essentially each and every member will be able to display at least one photograph. More details wil be given, on how we take this forward and any help that will be needed, at our next meeting.

Finally, on Friday 1 April in St Piran’s Hall, Goldsithney there be an April Fool’s Quiz. I know a number of you have previously been along to these popular, well attended, fun events. If you would like to come along, tickets are available from Michael Ball on 01736 710364 and are £5 each (adults) £2.50 (children) which includes a pasty supper. Profits go towards Church funds.

As always please feel free to contact me if you have any questions/concerns regarding the group, any suggestions/ideas you may have or if you have any general points regarding photography. I will do my best to find the answers for you.
